Every year Complete I.T. choose a charity to support, through company funded events and fundraising activity. Previously, Complete I.T. have sponsored charities such as AGE UK and Blenheim CDP, and only last week one of our Service Delivery Managers underwent Tough Mudder to raise money for the charity Hertfordshire Action on Disability, that supply necessary equipment to the disabled.
This year, Complete I.T. have decided to sponsor the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation and Walsingham Support.
Our Office Administrator Louise Cheeseman and her daughter Jordan Scott, who works in our London office, have seen first-hand the work that Children’s Liver Disease Foundation do. Jordan was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis in 2012 and received life-changing support from the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, and Complete I.T are thrilled to have the opportunity to show our gratitude and support to them in return.
I was lucky enough to visit them in their office in Birmingham recently and meet the team we will be closely working alongside over the following year.
Who are Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF)
CLDF was originally created when the founder, who’s own child suffered from liver disease, realised there was very little support available for the children and the families that must go through this horrific time. Seeing that something needed to be done, Children’s Liver Disease Foundation was formed – and they have been offering support for children, young people and young adults with liver disease and their families since 1980.
The CLDF Office
Once I’d finally found my way around the Birmingham road system (which isn’t a small feat), I was greeted outside by a member of the CLDF team, who showed me through to a meeting room filled with wonderful magazine articles of children that have managed to live full and active lives thanks to the amazing work that the organisation does.
Sitting with the team that dedicate their time and resources to improving the lives of so many children was awe inspiring, and discussing all the different fundraising events that CLDF undergo each year gave me an insight into the level of commitment that it takes to ensure they can offer the level of support that children suffering from these diseases truly need. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside such a brilliant group of people.
How Complete I.T will help
18 members of the Complete I.T. team have bravely agreed to take part in this years ‘Rough Runner’, a 10 kilometer obstacle course that takes place in Clapham in September, to raise money for both CLDF and Walsingham Support.
Throughout the course of the year, we will be taking part in several fundraising events, both alongside CLDF and independently throughout the company.
You’ll hear plenty from us throughout the year about when the events will take place and please feel free to get involved.
